Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to estimate the health benefits of reducing PM2.5 in Taiwan with Benefit per Ton method (BPT). Assessing targets include the emission sources of point pollution (18 industry sectors), line pollution (scooters, gasoline, and diesel vehicles), and area pollution (12 classifications). The impact pathway approach (IPA) framework was applied to integrate the air quality simulation, health impact responses, and monetary measurements so as to estimate the benefit per ton of emission sources mentioned above. The estimation results of this study provides a simplified way to support the cost-benefit analysis (CBA) for further studies and is expected to facilitate the improvement of the decision quality of formulating the control policies. Keywords: PM2.5, health benefit, benefit per ton, impact pathway approach, cost-benefit analysis
