The Second Research Division
Guiding principles
The Second Research Division is designated to conduct research on issues related to the international economy, including trade and investment, regional integration, international organizations. By taking advantage of the expertise of its individual researchers, the division is also involved in thematic research, on such issues as cross-strait development, science and technology innovation, energy and environment, digital economy, telecommunications and transportation. The staff members are well-motivated to deliver insights of policy analyses and to propose policy recommendations."
Research focus and objectives
This division has been an important partner to a variety of governmental agencies, such as Industrial Development Bureau, Department of Industrial Technology, Bureau of International Trade, National Development Council, Environment Protection Administration, Bureau of Energy, National Communications Commission and so on. In addition, the division are commissioned by firms and organizations in the private sector for strategic studies and consultations. We are able to deliver reports and speeches, with well-respected policy impacts. Moreover, some academic papers are generated out of our policy studies and get published at international conferences and referred journals, to enrich our policy and academic influence.
