This Division focuses on the study of the Chinese economy, with research directions broadly categorized into three areas: “Fundamental Research,” “Forward-Looking Research,” and “Project-Based Research.” “Fundamental Research” and “Forward-Looking Research” aim to grasp the underlying logic and characteristics of China’s economic operations, with a particular emphasis on the development and institutional reforms of the system, its foreign relations, and the political and economic dynamics across the Taiwan Strait. Building on this foundation, this Division has undertaken project-based research commissioned by both government and private organizations. Such research involves comprehensive analyses of specific issues concerning China and cross-strait relations. The key areas of focus encompass the CCP system, various industries, technology, finance, fiscal policy, foreign investment and trade, labor, population, and society, as well as regional economic development. The Division is committed to knowledge dissemination and public service in addition to delivering high-quality research outcomes. We also host influential academic and policy discussion forums regularly to facilitate extensive exchanges among domestic and international scholars on China’s political and economic development issues.
