Geopolitics has become a key factor shaping, and at times constraining, the development of the international economy and strategic technologies. Donald Trump’s second term is widely known as “Trump 2.0.” However, after a year of international disputes and policy responses triggered by reciprocal tariffs, the Trump administration has gradually adjusted and recalibrated its Make America Great Again (MAGA) agenda and strategy. Its approach now differs from that of the previous year. Alongside the tariff war, the effects of the U.S.-China technology rivalry continue to spread. China is also seeking breakthroughs in critical sectors. These developments are impacting Taiwan both directly and indirectly, particularly in relation to the “New Eastbound Strategy,” and are significantly shaping the growth of emerging technologies and industries. Meanwhile, the priority technology sectors attracting the attention of major economies, including semiconductors, AI, humanoid robots, and drones, continue to evolve and generate new development paths, technology strategies, and governance issues.
This symposium focuses on technology strategy and governance amid geopolitical changes. The goal is to examine major domestic and international developments and trends through four themes: “AI Chips and Complementary Technologies: International Benchmarks,” “The Diversified Evolution and Applications of AI,” “Geopolitics and Changes in the Semiconductor Ecosystem,” and “The Ripple Effects of Technological Innovation and Strategies for Breakthroughs.” Professionals from all sectors are cordially invited to register and participate.
