Long-Term Development Strategies for Selected Countries

Reviewing year 2010 and looking to the future prospects, there are many middle- and long-term development issues worth close examination, such as slow global economic recovery, trade imbalances, fiscal deficit and national debt crisis, signing and implementation of the cross-strait ECFA, East Asia Economic integration, the 12th Five-Year Plan of China, climate change, unsustainable energy resources and food shortages, and aging and low-birth-rate society. In response to these challenges, governments across the world have not only taken immediate actions via various policy instruments but also proposed long-term development strategies for the countries.

To provide a forum for the exchange of thoughts and experience, Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research will hold the Conference on the Long-Term Development Strategies for Selected Countries to bring together scholars, professionals, and Representatives of India, Australia, European Union and United Kingdom to introduce the long-term development strategies for China, Singapore, Japan, Korea, India, Australia, European Union and United Kingdom. The Conference aims to provide directions for policymakers to draw up the national development plan and for enterprises to make adequate strategies for long-term investment.
