12/23 “Looking Ahead to 2026: AI Advancement, Tariff Adaptation, and Supply Chain Configuration Challenges” Taiwan Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Operational Outlook Seminar

In 2026, AI advancements will continue to significantly reshape the global industrial landscape. Both capital investment and market demand will converge, accelerating differentiation across various industries. Meanwhile, changes in U.S. tariff policies and stricter origin-tracing requirements will place unprecedented adaptive pressures on businesses. These challenges will affect cost absorption, price negotiation, supply chain restructuring, and cross-border operations. The combined effects of cost pass-through, reorganized investment timelines, supply chain disruption risks, and the reallocation of human and logistical resources due to international operations will shape the operational opportunities and risks businesses face in 2026. This seminar will explore the international and industrial transformations of 2026 from three strategic perspectives:

Session 1: Features former Chairman Bronson Hsieh of Evergreen Marine Corporation and Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation, who will analyze critical changes in the global economy and shipping markets to reveal the significant impact of the international environment on industrial chains.
Session 2: Dr. Shin-Hui Chen from the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER) will present the PMI/NMI Operational Outlook for 2026. He will also share managers’ recent evaluations of AI infrastructure investments, determining whether these investments indicate “early strategic positioning” or if they have outstripped actual needs. The session will also examine the latest trends in divergence between the manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors, as well as the evolving direction of supply chain adjustments.
Session 3: Jang-Hwa Leu, Secretary General of the Chinese National Federation of Industries, will provide an in-depth analysis, from a practical industry perspective, of the challenges and new opportunities enterprises face in supply chain configuration, investment, and operational strategies.

The final comprehensive discussion will integrate frontline insights from shipping, corporate surveys, and industry practitioners to provide government entities, enterprises, and financial markets with the most forward-looking trend dynamics and risk guidance for 2026.
