KDI-CIER Seminar: Tariffs, Global Supply Chains, and Policy Response

On August 26, Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER) was honored to co-host KDI-CIER Seminar with the Korea Development Institute (KDI) (KDI / 한국개발연구원), building on the strong partnership based on our MOU.

The seminar brought together leading experts and researchers from both sides to exchange in-depth perspectives on pressing trade and policy issues, including:

➡️ Trump’s Tariff Policies and the Challenges for South Korea’s Trade Policy
➡️ How U.S. Tariffs Are Reshaping Taiwan’s Trade
➡️ Heterogeneous Impacts of the US-China Trade War on Korea
➡️ The Impact of the US-China Trade War on Taiwan’s International Trade

This collaboration provided an excellent platform to explore how global tariff shifts and supply chain restructuring are reshaping economies across the region. The dynamic discussions not only deepened mutual understanding but also highlighted opportunities for Taiwan and Korea to collaborate more closely in navigating today’s complex global trade environment.

A heartfelt thank you to KDI for the thoughtful arrangements and warm hospitality, and to the presenters from both KDI and CIER for sharing your expertise. Excited to continue the dialogue and see you in Taiwan next year.
