Established in 2015 by the CIER, this Center aims to integrate the CIER’s expertise in economics and law to enhance policy collaboration and legal analysis capabilities. The Center has combined geopolitical trends, economic data, and regulatory impact assessment methodologies to analyze institutional adjustment needs and governance directions in response to emerging legal challenges posed by issues such as digital trade, standards harmonization, technical barriers to trade (TBT), regulation of new technologies, and government-controlled enterprises. As global supply chains undergo restructuring and economic security risks escalate, the Center focuses on studying economic security policies and critical industry protection measures of various countries. It outlines strategies for legal reform to enhance Taiwan’s industrial autonomy and supply chain resilience and facilitate the creation of a future-oriented economic security governance framework.
