Taipei County has a complete industry cluster, beginning with the textile industry, machinery industry, electronic industry and plastic industry centered in Sindian, Sanchong, Banciao, Junghe areas. With the development of the industrial park and new towns, such as industrial parks in Shulin, Taishan, Tucheng, Ruei-Fung, Linkou developed in the 1980s, which further strengthened and expanded Taipei County’s industrial clustering. The development of industry network decreases enterprises operation expenses, with the clustering of industries further creating network/internet economy effects. Taipei County has slowly become the industry belt, with industry basics/bases coordinating with convenient transportation network, as Sun Yat-sen Freeway and Northern Second Freeway as two main important pathways. Along the route of Sun Yat-sen Freeway biotechnology development, with Si-Jhih, Sinjuang and Wugo Hsiang as the development center, and the Northern Second Freeway route semiconductor, FPD Technology industry research, digital content technology industry, production, manufacturing was the key, and along the industry belt that includes Si-Jhih, Shenkeng, Sindian, Junghe, Tucheng. There was 4,941 information enterprises in Taipei County in 2004, the second among the 25 counties in Taiwan, only behind Taipei City’s 8,295, ahead of the third place TaiChung city’s 1,741, forth place Taoyuan County (1,690) and the fifth place Kaohsiung city (1,597).
