The purpose of this project is to evaluate how green house gas (GHG) emissions reduction policies influence the industry, in order to derive the proper industrial development policies balancing economic growth and environmental protection. Four topics are covered:
Firstly, we use the cost-benefit-analysis of GHG emission reduction policies on five energy-intensive industries (iron & steel, chemical, cement, artificial fibers, pulp-and-paper), semiconductor, and TFT-LCD industries.
Secondly, we analyze the effects of national GHG reduction policy on large-energy-intensive investing projects. Thirdly, we study the effects of GHG reduction policies on the macro-economy and individual industry.
Finally, we provide suggestions regarding to the options and collocation of GHG reduction policies and industrial structure adjustment for policy makers. The results of the projects can be referenced by the government for golden triangle administration and plan covering economic growth, social justice, and environmental protection.
