In the past, the dependency on trade was very high in Taiwan. However, the economic situation of the world has changed greatly, and the trade faced by Taiwan is significantly different.
Therefore, Taiwan’s trade partners’ critical economic changes will bring about different impacts on the trade patterns of Taiwan. In order to determine the influence that each region will have, this paper has divided the Taiwan’s trade markets into seven regions due to the amount of exports. Furthermore, it also researches the effect on imports and exports of services defined by the Directorate-General of budget, Accounting and Statistics, Executive Yuan.
This paper finds that variables influencing trade are inconsistent between theoretical and empirical expectations, and each region has different influencing factors. Hence, a discussion of the Taiwan’s trade by regions is necessary.
