Manufacturing activity expands

CNA Manufacturing activity in Taiwan expanded in December for the 10th consecutive month amid a gradual recovery of the domestic economy, the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER) said Tuesday. The purchasing managers index (PMI) stood at 55.9 points, while the non-manufacturing index rose 1.5 points from a month earlier to 51.3, both showing expansion in December, it said.
