To enhance academic exchange and cooperation in economic and sustainable development policy between Taiwan and South Korea, the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER) collaborated with Chungnam National University (CNU) to host the “CNU–CIER Joint Symposium and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony” on January 8th. This event marked a significant step forward in strengthening bilateral academic and policy collaboration.
The joint symposium addressed a variety of relevant and forward-looking issues. Through two thematic sessions and in-depth exchanges, participants explored how economic research, digital innovation, and climate policy can be integrated to promote sustainable development and enhance economic resilience. At the conclusion of the event, both parties formally signed an MOU that establishes a foundation for long-term cooperation in academic exchange, joint research, and policy dialogue. This agreement aims to deepen research efforts in the fields of economics, sustainability, and international policy moving forward.
Hsien-Ming Lien, President of the CIER, expressed gratitude to Byungchae Rhee, Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Chungnam National University, as well as all speakers, moderators, and participating scholars, for their enthusiastic engagement. President Lien emphasized his hope that, through ongoing knowledge exchange, both institutions can collaboratively enhance the global impact of their policy research.
