This project studies the mid- and long -term development and policy of mainland China’s financial system and explores its influence on Taiwan’s related financial industries and economy. The study on the banking, securities and futures, insurance industries, along with the topics on Chinese Yuan and real-estate are included in this research. Through interviewing key managers, policy makers, and researchers of related financial industries in China, quantitative analysis and the analyses on strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat (SWOT), conclusions on the above-mentioned influences and policy suggestions are provided. For instance, six development trends of China’s banking industry, the experience on the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) between Hong Kong and mainland China, the evaluation on the impact of Taiwanese’s hoarding of Chinese Yuan, and how to utilize the interpretation of mainland China’s Twelfth Five-Year Plan to persuade mainland China to liberalize more through the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA).
