Abstract:

To achieve the global reduction target of the Paris Agreement, the plan to move towards net zero emissions has been an important focus of international greenhouse gas management in recent years. In the context of net zero emissions, as the use of negative emission technologies has become a necessity, the net zero planning of the agricultural sector has gradually become one of the focuses of discussions. However, there is no relevant literature in Taiwan that discusses the role that the agricultural sector can play in the context of net zero emissions, and how to design possible plans for the agricultural sector to move towards the goal of net zero emissions. To fill the research gap, this project will first summarize the framework and core elements of the agricultural net-zero plan through a comprehensive review of relevant international literature. And then, apply a systematic approach on inventory of the relevant domestic scientific research results to clarify the possible working gaps building up the net zero plan of Taiwan’s agricultural sector. Following the analysis results, the suggestions of the further net zero plan for the agricultural sector in Taiwan will be provided.
