Abstract:
(Key words:subsidy program for fuel cell power demonstrations, Industry Analysis) In order to promote new energy development, the Bureau of Energy under Ministry of Economic Affairs planned to subsidize the demonstration of fuel cell power generation from the fiscal year of 2009. The purpose of this subsidy program is to assess and verify the applicability of fuel cell power to the society of Taiwan from both technical and economic perspectives. At the same time, the demonstration project is also providing the general public an overall picture about clean energy and creating a commercialized environment for the fuel cell industry. Under the contract with the Bureau of Energy and the Industrial Technology Research Institute, we established the Demonstration and Promotion Office for Fuel Cell Power Technology. The main task of the office is to assist the government execute the subsidy program. Also, with the feedbacks from participating organizations, the Office operates as a platform for technology and business opinion exchanges among the companies engaged in fuel cell industry. Furthermore, the Office will also propose suggestions for future policy on industrial development.
The objectives of this project include:
1. Continuing execute the subsidy program for fuel cell power demonstrations.
2. Promoting the development of hydrogen energy and fuel cell industry, and the communications among companies at different levels of the supply chain.
3. Providing the government with future directions and strategies for fuel cell industry development to achieve the goals of “Sunrise Agenda” of green energy industry.
4. Increasing the understanding of the general public about the technology, applications and importance of hydrogen and fuel cell energy.
Specific missions of this project include:
1. Collect international hydrogen energy and fuel cell policy.
2. Investigation on fuel cell power generation system application potential.
3. Planning stationary fuel cell power generation system subsidy measure, and that meeting.
4. Planning of fuel cell power generation system inspection mechanism.
5. Promote Mainland China and Taiwan or International Exchange and Cooperation.
6. Cooperate with this project and Bureau of Energy demand instant to handle related matters.
