Abstract:

The purpose of the project is to collect advanced countries’ lessons for developing medical tourism, and prepare evaluation report. The research direction of the project includes the following four perspectives: first, to evaluate the benefit and impact of medical tourism; second, to investigate labor demand and supply in medical tourism industry; third, to provide an evaluation report on the impact of special zone for international health care industry and zone selection; fourth, to set up a project management office to coordinate relevant stakeholders and provide in in-time consulting service. Major policy recommendations include: government should fully aware of the impacts of medical tourism and health care zone, providing necessary complementary measures and strengthening communication with the public.
